Traveling Food - Dinner in Real Time

If you bring your lunch with you when you travel you can avoid over-expensive and under-nourishing convenience food. Here are a few guidelines.

Choose sturdy foods that are not too squishable. For example, bagels are better than sliced breads if you would like to have a sandwich. A bagel with cream cheese is one of the best travel sandwich options because both the shell and filling are pretty sturdy.

Fresh fruits have a good chance of getting squished, so dried fruits are preferable for traveling. You can make a sort of trail mix side with nuts and dried fruits if you like this sort of combination. This is a great option to get protein, vitamins, and fiber in your travel diet!

Crackers and cheese are one of my favorite travel foods! Protein and carbohydrates! But they are salty, so remember to bring water!

Cookies or some other sort of sweet is probably a good idea. You will be tempted by all sorts of sugar in convenience stores. If you bring your own sweets, it’s likely that you won’t be as tempted to purchase overpriced and overportioned sweets that will throw off your budget and your nutrition.
